Speaking of home improvements...

Yesterday we found a small, slightly damp, hole in the wall. At the same time we found some strange substance on Penny's lips. Surely this wasn't related?

Then later that day I found her literally trying to bite through part of the wall in the kitchen downstairs. We were just recently considering letting her roam the house when we're gone or asleep (she currently stays in a crate). Should we do it?
